If you’re considering a trip to Japan, one destination you shouldn’t miss is the newly opened IWATAKE WHITE PARK in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture.
This outdoor facility, located at the summit of Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field at an elevation of 1,289 meters, offers a range of activities that cater to everyone—from skiers and snowboarders to families and even pets.
Here’s a rundown of the must-visit spots within this winter wonderland.
Opened in October 2018, Hakuba Mountain Harbor is a scenic terrace offering panoramic views of the Northern Alps. Experience the changing seasons with breathtaking views from an altitude difference of 2,200 meters.
In winter, the snow-covered Alps create a serene backdrop. Enjoy exclusive menu items from the popular New York bakery, The City Bakery, while sipping hot chocolate to warm up.
Initially launched in August 2020, the YAHOO! Swing quickly gained popularity on social media, especially among younger generations.
This winter, it has been transformed into a snowy wonderland where you can swing in the crisp winter air, complete with themed costumes to enhance the experience.
The swing operates on sunny weekends from 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM.
A new addition to the summit area, the Kids & Beginners Area offers a safe environment for sledding and beginner skiing or snowboarding lessons.
The area is set within a beech forest with flat slopes, making it perfect for families. Equipment like sleds, tubes, and snow boots are available for rent at no extra cost.
Nezuko Forest at the summit transforms into a snowshoeing paradise during winter.
Enjoy the peaceful surroundings as you walk on fresh snow. Snowshoes are available for free at the summit, and guided tours are also offered.
For the first time, you can now bring your furry friends along for a gondola ride to the summit. The IWATAKE WHITE PARK DOG RUN features a designated area where dogs can run freely on the snow.
There are also walking trails and a tubing area where you and your pet can have fun together. A rest area is also available for when you need a break.
